Estancia La Oriental, Buenos Aires

Before the turn of the last century La Oriental was born a grand breeding farm for racehorses and has all the stately tradition one would expect to impress thoroughbred buyers from around the globe.

Rafael Torello’s family bought the estancia in 1914 and now he and his wife Estella run the stately 2500 acres, raising cattle and crops in an environmentally friendly way. Estella has lovingly restored the original guesthouse room by room with her exquisite design that lends a fresh air to the original antique furniture and accutrements of the past, many of which were brought in from Europe.

Century old alamocarolina trees line the estancia entry, and are best appreciated from the seat of the original horse-drawn carriage. The grounds boast El Carpincho lake, 20 acres of parkland, expansive lawns and gardens, and a pool.

This is a very typical estancia experience, with plenty of peaceful space to relax, if you wish, or play hard, too. Rafael and Estella can tailor your experience just to suit your mood.

La Oriental is a great respite on the route from Buenos Aires to the Mendoza wine country.
