Estancia Paso Flores, Patagonia

In 1958 German immigrants bought Estancia Paso Flores hoping to put their Christian ideals to practice and began raising Australian merino sheep in the Patagonian Savanna. In 1986, everything changed when plans for a hydroelectric dam determined the valley would become a retention lake and the farm would be flooded. A lengthy building process revealed a new calling for Paso Flores. Workers from the dam began to ask the estancia to provide sandwiches for lunch. The German inspired cuisine proved popular and soon picnic areas were set up to accommodate upwards of 150 guests for lunch.

It wasn’t long before engineers brought their wives to dinner as well, confirming a gift for hospitality.

As they planned the new grounds, it only made sense to incorporate room for visitors. The new estancia has a guest house, restaurant and large indoor pool, not far from the old estancia, which is now a great big fishing hole.

Guests can stay overnight or just for day to enjoy the pool, ride horses, go fishing and enjoy a great lunch.

Paso Flores hosts wedding parties and meetings as well. The dining room seats up to 120.
